Overview - What is Foyle Health @ Work?
The project is targeted at employers in all business sectors, and seeks to raise awareness, signpost, offer advice and training on important health issues in a workplace setting, as well as encouraging an overall healthier lifestyle for all.
Employers who sign up for the scheme will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of a healthier workforce, through the support and training provided by Derry Healthy Cities and their partners.
The Foyle Health at Work Project team, work closely with employers to ensure they are provided with optimum support and opportunity to develop a positive health action plan for their businesses. All programmes are evaluated to ensure they meet the needs identified in the health needs assessment.
To Date @ A Glance
Foyle Health @ Work (FH@W) project is entering its 7th year of operation. Through it extensive consultation has taken place with workplaces, management and staff on the development of appropriate health interventions adaptable to the work environment.
The programme has worked with over 70 workplaces and engaged with over 7000 employees in the Western Trust area. The Project aims to create a healthier workforce in the Western Trust area by targeting workplaces in Derry/Londonderry, Limavady and Strabane in all sectors, it is a workplace settings based approach to contributing to a healthier community encouraging healthier lifestyles for all.

It is the overall aim that these programmes will lead to health of employees being placed on the corporate agenda through the development of healthy workplace practices and polices.
